Military Appreciation Day

The Field of Dreams Movie Site, along with World Data Systems and the Special Forces Charitable Trust are excited to announce plans for Military Appreciation Day to be held Saturday, June 1, 2019! We invite all to join us at our special ball diamond in the corn to celebrate all active and retired members of the United States Armed Forces and honor them for all they have sacrificed to protect this country in which we are so fortunate to call our home.

Special Events

Fans can enjoy watching the next generation play America’s past time on the Field of Dreams in the afternoon! World Data Systems, a credit processing company based out of the Chicago area, believes that children are the key to the future, and that strong communities help provide the foundation for them to fulfill their potential. The company sponsors a youth baseball team, each year. Thunder, now a 15U youth baseball team from the metropolitan Chicagoland area, will play an all-star team from the Midwest, known as the Bolingbrook Storm. Parents and other guests can enjoy watching the next generation play America’s past time on the Field where dreams come true.

Fans won’t want to miss the softball game under the lights against the Military Team made up of current and retired Green Berets, and the Civilian team, made up of proud, local American citizens for three innings of fun!

This patriotic day will end with a showing of the movie in left field, along with a short feature film on the US Military Special Forces!

Master of Ceremonies:

Rob Daniels, a creative and energetic on-air personality, will be flying in from his home in Toronto, Canada, as guest emcee for the day.
