Welcome to the Farm

Curious facts you may want to know about the Field:

  • The dimensions of the ballfield are: 280 feet to right and left fields and 300 feet to the center corn. The infield is regulation size with a 60-foot pitching mound and 90-foot bases.
  • The corn planted around the Field is feed corn, not sweet corn.
  • The farm was in the Lansing Family starting in 1906.
  • Don Lansing is the then bachelor who said “yes” to the Hollywood producers who wanted to use his boyhood home for the film.
  • A nearby farming family plants the corn so each row faces into the outfield.

What is the “Team of Dreams”?

Presented by American Trust and Savings Bank, the Team of Dreams is a day-long celebration of Major League Baseball’s most accomplished and celebrated stars of all-time at baseball’s holy ground — The Field of Dreams Movie Site.

Join the team of Major League Baseball’s most accomplished and celebrated stars of all-time at the Celebrity Breakfast on Sunday, September 3. Hear the rare, first-hand tales of their upbringing and up through their glory years, while enjoying a lush buffet breakfast at the Hotel Julien in Dubuque. After the breakfast, all the action moves to the Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville from noon on beginning with the autograph show, a live Q&A with at least one player, bounce houses for the kids and music while you enjoy a game of catch before the main event at 7:30pm — watching the Game’s greats emerge from the corn and play each other under the lights on the movie set. For the Team of Dreams Autograph & Collectible Show, players will be available for autographs and photos on a rotating schedule, with all activities taking place under the comfort of a closed in tent. Purchasing tickets online ahead of time will save you time waiting in line.
